The Improved Cook Stove (ICS) Program of ARS-Bangladesh promotes clean, energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable cooking solutions for rural and low-income households. The program supports the adoption of improved cook stoves that consume less fuel, produce less smoke, and help reduce indoor air pollution, thereby improving the health and well-being of families, particularly women and children.
Through training, awareness campaigns, and stove distribution, the program encourages fuel-efficient cooking practices, reduces pressure on forest resources, and contributes to climate change mitigation through lower carbon emissions. In addition, the initiative creates local employment opportunities through the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of improved cook stoves.
The ICS Program reflects ARS-Bangladesh’s commitment to environmental sustainability, public health improvement, and climate-resilient community development.
