Poverty Alleviation Credit Program

The Poverty Alleviation Credit Program of ARS-Bangladesh aims to reduce poverty and improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable households by providing access to microcredit, financial inclusion, and livelihood opportunities. The program supports low-income individuals, particularly women and rural entrepreneurs, through small loans, financial literacy, and income-generating activities that help build sustainable livelihoods.

Implemented across Jashore, Khulna, Jhenaidah, Kushtia, Magura, Narail, Meherpur, Satkhira, and Chuadanga districts, the program benefited 18,174 participants during the 2024–2025 fiscal year. Beneficiaries received financial support for small-scale farming, poultry rearing, crop cultivation, grocery shops, handicrafts, van rentals, mobile vending, and other income-generating activities. The program maintained a loan outstanding portfolio of Tk. 7,809.88 lakh, reflecting its significant contribution to local economic development.

Through this initiative, ARS-Bangladesh empowers disadvantaged families to increase their income, strengthen food security, create employment opportunities, and achieve greater economic self-reliance.
