As part of its future plans, ARS-Bangladesh is committed to promoting Green Energy & Eco-friendly Agriculture, recognizing the critical need for sustainable practices in addressing environmental challenges and improving livelihoods in rural communities. This initiative aligns with the organization’s broader mission to foster sustainable development and protect the environment while enhancing the economic resilience of farmers and rural populations.

The Promotion of Green Energy & Eco-friendly Agriculture initiative will focus on integrating renewable energy sources into agricultural practices, thereby reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing the environmental footprint of farming activities. One of the primary goals is to introduce and expand the use of solar-powered irrigation systems. Traditional irrigation methods, often dependent on diesel pumps, contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions and increase the cost of farming. By transitioning to solar-powered systems, ARS-Bangladesh aims to lower energy costs for farmers, reduce carbon emissions, and promote more sustainable water management practices.
