ARS-Bangladesh is committed to improving healthcare access and preventing avoidable health conditions among vulnerable and underserved communities. Through medical outreach programs, health awareness initiatives, and partnerships with specialized healthcare institutions, the organization provides essential healthcare services to populations with limited access to quality medical care.
Under the “Reduction of Avoidable Blindness in Bangladesh – Phase II” project, implemented from September 2024 to February 2025 with support from Dollar A Day, Australia, ARS-Bangladesh provided eye care services to approximately 2,200 beneficiaries in Barishal and Kishoreganj. The project included free eye screenings, pre-operative assessments, cataract surgeries, post-operative care, distribution of eyeglasses, medicines, and patient support services. Implemented in collaboration with Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital, the initiative contributed significantly to reducing preventable blindness and improving the quality of life of vulnerable individuals.
Through such interventions, ARS-Bangladesh continues to enhance healthcare access, promote health awareness, and improve the well-being of disadvantaged communities across Bangladesh.
