The Income-Generating Loans (IGL) Program is one of the flagship microfinance initiatives of ARS-Bangladesh, providing financial services to low-income households and small entrepreneurs across 9 districts of Khulna Division. As of June 2025, the microfinance program served 42,537 members, including 34,792 active borrowers, with 65% of beneficiaries being women. The program contributed to a cumulative loan disbursement of BDT 2,224.91 crore and maintained an outstanding loan portfolio of BDT 273.16 crore, while achieving an impressive 98.69% loan recovery rate. Through support for small businesses, agriculture, livestock rearing, trading, handicrafts, and other income-generating activities, the program has strengthened household incomes, created self-employment opportunities, and enhanced the economic resilience of thousands of marginalized families. Operating through 82 branch offices, the IGL Program continues to play a vital role in promoting financial inclusion, poverty reduction, and sustainable livelihood development.
