WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT LOANS

The Women’s Empowerment Loan Program of ARS-Bangladesh aims to strengthen the economic independence, social status, and decision-making capacity of women from low-income and vulnerable households. Through access to microcredit, financial services, and livelihood support, the program enables women to engage in income-generating activities, expand small businesses, and contribute to household economic development.

Women beneficiaries utilize loans for activities such as livestock rearing, poultry farming, crop cultivation, tailoring, handicrafts, small trading, grocery shops, and other micro-enterprises. The program is integrated within ARS-Bangladesh’s broader microfinance initiatives, which served 42,537 members and 34,792 active borrowers through 82 branch offices during the 2024–2025 fiscal year, with women representing the majority of participants.

By improving access to financial resources and economic opportunities, the program contributes to poverty reduction, enhanced household income, greater financial inclusion, and the empowerment of women as active contributors to community development.
